Sixty-second videos made by young people (between the ages of
12 and 20) from all over the world. Time may be limited in a
oneminutesjr video (this challenges the youngsters to form their ideas
clearly), but not the freedom to express oneself creatively, which is
the basic right of every person.

What is the oneminutesjr network?
It is a non-commercial community without any set political belief or ideology. The network gives young people, especially those who are underprivileged or marginalised, the opportunity to have their voices heard by a broad audience. To share with the world their ideas, dreams, fascinations, anxieties and viewpoints.
What does the network consist of?
It consists of the interactive oneminutesjr website, a yearly festival competition, workshops across the world, video broadcasting on ten European public TV channels, and screenings at festivals and events. And this is only for now... As we involve more partners and explore new ways of getting the oneminutesjr videos out there, the network will continue to expand. Who?
Who are the initiators of the oneminutesjr network?
The network was set up in November 2002 by means of a unique
partnership of an intergovernmental organisation, a supranational
foundation and an academic institution. Linking artistic quality
directly with the political arena, the partnership was able to reach
and address very different audiences.
The initiators are:
the european cultural foundation,
an independent NGO based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, which promotes
cultural cooperation as a key part of the European integration process.
The ECF gives support to the cultural sector and campaigns on its
behalf. It is the main financial contributor, coordinator and
administrator of theoneminutesjr network in Europe.
the one minutes foundation,
a worldwide videonetwork based in the Sandberg Institute, a
postgraduate course in fine arts, design and applied arts. Worldwide,
The One Minutes promotes and distributes videos of 60 seconds. The One
Minutes acts as the technical coordinator, providing artistic guidance
and technical support for the oneminutesjr network and organising the
annual oneminutes festival.
unicef, the UN's
children's fund, protects children and their rights by providing
services and supplies and by helping shape policy agendas and budgets
in the best interests of children. UNICEF provides financial aid in
Central and Eastern Europe and in the CIS region. It is the main
financial contributor, coordinator and administrator of theoneminutesjr
network in rest of the world.
